About Thomas

Thomas Olsen leads Bain's Financial Market Infrastructure practice and the Web3 and Digital Asset practices. He is also a leader in our Private Equity, Financial Investor, Strategy and Financial Services practices.  

He has a special focus on the impact of new technology and fintech and market modernization across payments and financial markets.  He previously led Bain's Strategy and Corporate Finance practices in APAC as well as the Americas Payments practice.

Thomas has extensive experience across developed and developing markets, working with financial investors, financial institutions in banking, payments and capital markets. Additionally, he holds deep expertise in M&A and Due Diligence, corporate and portfolio strategy and organizational design.

Prior to joining Bain in 2008, Thomas was a partner with another global consulting firm in London, Singapore, São Paulo, and Zurich. He also spent five years with the World Bank, based in Washington DC and Caracas.

Thomas holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc from Cornell University, and a BA from Carleton College.
